Immaculate Heart Service Society

The Marian Catholic Campus Ministry is proud to announce the creation of the Immaculate Heart Service Society.

Community and Christian Service, especially through the Marian Cares Project, is an integral part of the lives and formation of Marian Catholic students. The administration, together with the Campus Ministry staff, believes that it is important to recognize those students who go above and beyond in service to the community and who lead others to do the same.

The Marian Cares Project (MCP) is modeled on the legacy of educational service given to Marian Catholic by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The inspiring lives of countless religious sisters have led students to reach further and grow in new ways through service. The impact of the decades’ long service of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary has left a permanent imprint on the Marian Catholic Family and that is why we have chosen to name the service society in honor of them.

BASIC TENETS

Students, by year, will need to complete three times the minimum amount of service hours for their class year. In addition, one-third of the hours need to be performed through the Marian Cares Project. The hours will be recorded in the Campus Ministry Office.

Students who meet the requirements of the society will receive an Immaculate Heart Service Society pin and a certificate in May, during a special recognition ceremony, after all service hours have been submitted for the year. Seniors who are members during their senior year will be given a white honor cord for graduation events.

Since its beginning or, in time, seniors who have been members of the society since their freshman year will be eligible for the Immaculate Heart Service Society Scholarship. The campus ministry staff will select two deserving students, one male and one female.

All community service forms that fulfill the minimum requirement for a student’s class year need to be submitted to the Campus Ministry Office no later than Friday, April 15, 2022. Service hour forms for the Immaculate Heart Service Society must be submitted by Friday, April 29, 2022.
