Academics

Marian Catholic High School offers a variety of courses designed to challenge students spiritually, morally, academically and

physically — while integrating the teachings of Christ. The requirements for graduation are mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Diocese of Allentown, and Marian Catholic High School. We are accredited by the Middle State Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Marian Catholic provides levels of difficulty in our curriculum including Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, Honors, College Prep, and Basics courses. Placement in these course levels are determined by national testing, placement tests, previous school records, and teacher recommendations.

To help Marian Catholic prepare a schedule for an incoming 9th Grader, students must take a math placement test either at their present school or at Marian Catholic. Incoming freshman will have Spanish based on previous Language Arts and Reading grades and with the approval from the Marian Catholic Foreign Language Department. All courses offered are explained in our course catalog, including requirements for each grade.

All classes will be expected to complete Summer Reading and Math requirements. Math assignments are due to the math teacher by the first week of school. English assignments will be reviewed from the first day of school.
