Marian Catholic High School is proud to announce the election of four new members to the Board of Directors of Marian High School, Inc.: Rev. Ronald J. Minner, Patrick McCall ’81, P ’02, ’07, Bruce Svetz ’83, and Susan Yacapsin McGorry ’84. Each will begin a three-year term on July 1, 2026, as Marian Catholic High School continues preparing for its 75th Anniversary celebration in 2028-29.

“These individuals each bring a deep love for Marian Catholic, exceptional professional experience, and a strong commitment to Catholic education,” said Dave Bielen ’69, P ’91, GP ’24, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “As Marian approaches this historic milestone in 2028-29, their leadership and vision will help guide the school during a pivotal and exciting time in our history.”

Rev. Ronald J. Minner

Fr. Ronald J. Minner is the Pastor of the Catholic Churches of Jim Thorpe: Immaculate Conception Parish and Saint Joseph Church.  Before being assigned to Jim Thorpe, he served as pastor of Holy Cross Parish in New Philadelphia. Bishop Alfred Schlert reassigned him to Immaculate Conception Parish and Saint Joseph Parish in 2021.  Fr. Minner was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Allentown in 2001.  He is a graduate of Notre Dame of Green Pond High School.

As Marian prepares to celebrate 75 years of Catholic education, I look forward to supporting its mission of faith, academic excellence, and service while helping ensure a strong future for generations of students to come.”

Father Minner will serve on the Strategic Communications Committee and the Enrollment Management Committee while on the Board.  

Patrick McCall ’81, P ’02, ‘07

Patrick McCall is one of five members of the McCall family to graduate from Marian Catholic High School, joining siblings Emmett ’79, Michael ’83, Connell ’85, and Terry ’88. His father, Emmett McCall, graduated from Marian in 1957, continuing a proud family tradition rooted in Catholic education and service.  His two daughters, Amanda ’02 and Riley ’07, are also graduates of Marian.

A 1985 graduate of DeSales University with a degree in Business Management, McCall currently serves as Chief Sales Officer for 2iG Solutions, Inc., a cutting-edge technology and analytics company serving the insurance premium finance industry. Prior to joining 2iG Solutions, he spent more than 20 years in executive sales leadership positions with ClarionDoor/Zywave and Vertafore.

“Marian Catholic played an important role in shaping both my faith and my work ethic, and it has been an important part of my family’s story for generations,” said McCall. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors as Marian approaches its 75th Anniversary. This is an exciting and pivotal time for the school, and I look forward to helping strengthen Marian’s future for the students and families who will follow.”

Patrick will serve as Vice Chair of the Advancement Committee and will also serve on the Governance and Nominating Committee.

Bruce Svetz ’83

Bruce Svetz is one of seven children of Joe and Theresa Svetz to attend Marian Catholic High School, alongside siblings Terri ’77, Wayne ’79, Cindy ’80, Greg ’84, Cheryl ’89, and Joe ’93. A dedicated supporter of Catholic education and community service, Svetz is an active member of All Souls Catholic Church in Sanford, Florida, and Saint Ann’s Church in DeBary, Florida. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Svetz previously served on Marian Catholic’s Board of Directors from 2012 through 2019. Professionally, he has served on and advised several corporate boards throughout the country, including Oxygen Plus, SOLIS Brands, and Beanitos Chip Company.  Bruce is currently serving in an executive role for Terba Madre, serving key accounts - large format for Southeast United States.

“Marian has always been an important part of my life and my family’s legacy,” said Svetz. “I am honored to return to the Board of Directors during this exciting chapter in Marian’s history. As the school prepares to celebrate its 75th Anniversary, I look forward to working alongside fellow board members and school leadership to ensure Marian continues to thrive for future generations.”

Bruce will serve as Chair of the Facilities Committee and will also serve on the Advancement, Finance and Nominating and Governance Committees.  

Susan Yacapsin McGorry ’84

Susan Yacapsin McGorry, a 1984 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, has devoted her professional life to Catholic higher education and service-oriented leadership. During her time at Marian, she was actively involved in Student Government, the French and National Honor Societies, Youth Corps, track, and cheerleading, while also serving her parish as a church organist and choir member.

McGorry currently serves as Assistant Provost for Assessment and Accreditation and Professor of Business at DeSales University. Her career has also included professional positions with Chase Manhattan Bank, AT&T, and UNESCO in France. In addition to her academic leadership, she has remained deeply committed to community service through organizations including Girls on the Run, United Way, Special Olympics, the Eastern Pennsylvania Down Syndrome Center, and the Lehigh Valley Health Network Institutional Review Board.

Sue is the daughter of Frances and the late Eugene J. Yacapsin. Her brothers John ('86) and Gene ('87) also attended Marian. She is married to Dr Eugene McGorry (mother and father both Marian graduates Rosalie Coleman '55 the late Eugene McGorry '56) and has three daughters Meghan, Shannon, and Molly. 

McGorry earned her M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Marketing and Applied Research from Lehigh University and completed post-doctoral work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 

“Marian Catholic provided the foundation for my lifelong commitment to faith, leadership, and service,” said McGorry. “As we prepare to celebrate the school’s 75th Anniversary, I am honored to join the Board of Directors and strengthen Marian’s mission for future generations. Marian has shaped so many lives, including my own family’s, and I am excited to ensure its continued success and growth.”

Susan will chair the Student Life Committee and also serve on the Enrollment Management Committee and the Strategic Communications Committee.
